Word Art Wednesday Challenge #206

Hello all! Thank you for stopping by my blog today as well are on Word Art Wednesday Challenge #206. For my Design Team card this week I made a pumpkin shaped card. I didn't have a pumpkin shaped die nor did I feel like purchasing an SVG so I ended up making my pumpkin simply by using oval dies. For my leaves I was wanting a certain green but didn't have any cardstock to match so I just inked up plain white piece of cardstock and turned it into green cardstock :) Oh, the stem was just hand cut and those little curly vines are actually embroidery thread. I applied Multi-mat Medium all over the floss, then wrapped the floss around a wood stick until it dried. This card ended up being super quick and easy!
We would love to have you join in on the challenge this week and by doing so you could win some great prizes! So after you have finished at my blog, just click here to be taken to Word Art Wednesday.

Yummy Goodness & Old Timer Bday Cards

Howdy everyone! I just wanted to pop in quickly so that I could share 2 birthday cards that I made for my daughter and my step-grandfather. I am super in love my daughter's card because it's not only her favorite colors but also mine, combined with some of our favorite things, donuts and sprinkles! My daughter absolutely loved it too and that meant the world to me!
I am also quite pleased with how my step-grandfather's card looks because masculine cards are always so hard to make. Not to mention the pressure I was under since it was for such an amazing man celebrating his 90th birthday and the card was technically going to be given to him by my mom and step-dad. I wanted to make my customer (my mom and step-dad) happy too, lol! Since he is turning 90 what better theme to use than the "Old Timer" theme, which obviously is where the clocks and numbers come in. The background numbered paper was a great addition for his card too because the colors matched the overall them but also because I noticed it had the number 90 in several spots, 3 to be exact, but I ended up just coloring in 1 of them.
I hope you enjoy them both and that it inspires you to get crafty this weekend! Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I wish you a marvelous weekend!

Yummy Goodness Birthday Card
Front of my daughter's card - There is a ton of sparkle on the donuts and Happy Birthday sentiment that unfortunately wasn't picked up by the camera :(
Inside of card
Back of card using my custom made stamp. I don't always show the backs of my cards but one thing I make sure I do is to decorate the back of the cards too. To me the back as just as important as the front because when you hold the card up to read it the people watching you can see that backside. So I just like to make the card special from front to back :)

Old Timer Birthday Card
Front of my step-father's card
Inside of card - the spot on the left is for the signature. I didn't want to have the signature be in the way of the poem in case it was saved as a memento.

PS: Usually I try to give you all a supply list but I used so many supplies between these 2 cards that to list them all would make this post forever long, so if you see something specific that you want to know about just leave me a comment and I will let you know :)

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #205

It's Word Art Wednesday Challenge time and that means I am here today with my Design Team card for Challenge #205! Woo Hoo! For today's card I made a gate fold card measuring 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. For the front of the card I scored every 1/8" on each side of the gate card's opening to add some dimension. For the hot air balloon, I actually used The Stamps of Life lightbulb2stamp set and the Lightbulb Dies. I had a hot air balloon set but it was too small for what I needed but with a little thinking I was able to use this light bulb set instead. So don't ever be afraid to think outside the box and see in what other ways you can use your stamp and die sets. That's why I love this art, it always allows me to challenge my creativity ;)
We would love to have you join in on the challenge and while doing so you could win some great prizes! After you have finished at my blog, just click here to be taken to the Word Art Wednesday blog. Thank you so much for stopping by today! I wish you a wonderful and blessed week!

Word Art Wednesday Chellenge #204

Happy mid-week everyone! Today's post is going to be rather short as it has been a crazy past week for me so I am trying to recuperate. My health makes it so I don't handle travel, walking, and rides very well so I end up in a great deal of severe pain upon doing any of them. Combined them all at one time and it's like a triple threat, lol. It's been a fantastic past week though making beautiful memories as my daughter officially became a teenager. For her birthday we took her to Disney World along with her best friend and like typical teenagers they went crazy riding every ride they possibly could. Then they turned into two giddy girls when they met Peter Pan, lol! It was all worth it and I of course will deal with this severe pain as long as I am making memories with my family :) Now onto my card.
The darling image I used was generously provided by one of this week's fantastic sponsors All Dressed Up and is called "Little Angel". I used both Spectrum Noir and Copic markers to color her and then added some Wink of Stella to her wings and the flowers, however the camera didn't capture the sparkle that well. Thank you all for stopping by and just wanted to remind you all that later this month I will be having a giveaway for my followers, so don't forget to follow my blog! I wish you all an amazing and blessed week!

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #203

Happy Wednesday! Today it's Challenge #203 for Word Art Wednesday. If you would like to join in on this week's challenge just click click here to be taken to the Word Art Wednesday blog. There you will find out all the challenge details :) We would love for you to join the fun! Before you go there though, let me share my Design Team card with you.
If any of you shop at Scrapbooking Made Simple you probably have heard the Stacey's father and uncle passed away last week. I wanted to make her a card and I thought this week's scripture was perfect as it speaks of strength, so I combined the two. I have been praying for the Lord to give Stacey eminence strength as I can relate to what she is going through and I know just how much she will have to lean on the Lord during this time. I also wanted test out a new stamp set I recently got from Altenew called Vintage Roses. I love how easy it was to get beautiful flowers by layering the stamps. Once I figured out what I was going to do the card only took me about 15 minutes to stamp, die cut, and put together :) I ended up going back later though and added Glossy Accents to the jar and water area to make it look like glass, however the pictures don't show it because it was an after thought.
Thanks for stopping by my blog this week! I wish you all a blessed one!

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #202

Good morning everyone! I am back today to showcase my Design Team creation for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #202. For this card I was so blessed to receive a digital image set from one of this week's sponsors, Deedee's Digis. The digital set I used is called Pilgrim Owls. It came with not only two adorable images, both with outlines as well as pre-colored, but also three digital papers! How awesome is that! It made making this card super easy! It would have been even easier if I has used the pre-colored images but you know that I love to color so I had to color it myself. I hope you all enjoy my card and will join me again for next week's challenge.
Don't forget if you would like to join in on the Word Art Wednesday Challenge just click here to be taken to the Word Art Wednesday blog. Have a wonderful and blessed week!

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #201

Hello all! Hope you all had a chance to join us last week at Word Art Wednesday for the Big 200 Celebration! We certainly did see many amazing creations so thank you very much to those of who you joined!
This week marks Challenge #201 and I so excited to present my card to you today using a digi image that I was so fortunate enough to receive from one of this week's sponsors, Bugaboo Stamps! I just can't get enough of this adorable dragon! He is so precious! As if he doesn't sparkle enough, I had to add even more. I wasn't able to pick up the sparkle for some reason while the card was in my Foldio 2 so I unfortunately I had to take the picture outside of the Foldio 2. I think the picture still came out ok, it's just not as bright as it would have been like when using the Foldio 2.
I hope you enjoy this little cutie as much as I do! Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful and blessed week! PS: Don't forget to follow my blog because in October I will be having a giveaway for my followers ;)

So why not join in on the fun too and submit your creation so that you have a chance to be one of the lucky winners!           I won't take up to much of your time today so that you can head on over to the challenge ASAP, so I present to you, my card :) Have a blessed day!

I used a pre-cut and pre-scored card base along with a piece of Designer Series Paper Stampin' Up. I turned it to be a top folding card. I printed out the scripture on Georgia Pacific white card-stock. Also on the same white card-stock I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp out those adorable pandas and bamboo pieces from Craftin Desert Divas. I colored them in with Spectrum Noir Alchohol markers and then fussy cut them out. Adhered everything down to the card with the exception I did pop up the pandas with foam tape. I hand tied a quick bow, attached it with a glue dot, and viola my card was complete. Oh as always I used my personalized stamp on the back and decorated it using one of those adorable panda's on the back as well.

Supplies List:
*Craftin Desert Divas - Panda Pals
*Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers
*White Jelly Roll Pen (to add highlights on the eyes)
*Copic Multiliner Pens (to add black details - This pen allows lines or detailing to be added yet will still work with the Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers so any added black lines will not bleed)

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #199

Wow! I can't believe it! Only 1 week left before we will have hit the 200 challenge mark over at Word Art Wednesday! Before we celebrate the big 200, we have to first share Challenge #199 with you all ;) We would love to have you join us, so after you are finished here at my blog, just click here and you'll be taken to the Word Art Wednesday blog.
I have been having a rough week with my health so the card I made for today was real quick and simple. I took a plain white already made card base that was also pre-scored for me. I had this beautiful single sheet of pattern paper in which I cut a piece and then attached it to a piece of matching Recollections card-stock. I printed out my scripture onto a piece of Georgia Pacific white card-stock and then used Perfect Plum to ink the edges. To ink the edges I used a paper towel rather than a sponge which gave a bit of a streaked texture. I added a gorgeous satin ribbon bow towards the bottom and ta-DA my card was done. Super easy!
Before I go, I am so excited to tell you all that STAMPtember has started over at Simon Says Stamp! Yippee! The second picture I have posted is of the awesome products Simon Says Stamp has provided me with so that I can make some fantastic and fun creations for you all! Birthday Cards

Happy Saturday Ya'll! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far! So far mine is consisting of keeping an eye on what is currently Tropical Storm Erika. Thank goodness for the ability to get crafty because should we be affected by this storm I more than likely will be without power since that is how past storms have been. The last tropical storm we were without power for 3 days, then shortly after that a hurricane had us without power for 5 days, and the next hurricane for 7 days. I was not crafting at that time so those days really seemed to linger. I hope none of you are affected by this storm or any other storms for that matter and that you all will be safe.
Well, on to a happier subject and show you what today's blog is all about ;) I made a card for my mom's birthday but never shared it with you all so I will be doing that today, plus it was my aunt's birthday this week so I made a card for her too. I love both cards, but I really-really love how my aunt's card turned out and I hope you all will like it just as much also. I am going to start off with showing you her card first since I am so head over heals about it :)
This shaker card measures 5 ½” x 5 ½”. Using a stamp set from My Favorite Things I made my own plaid background and with a stamp set from The Stamps Of Life I made the the polka dot background used for the shaker part. I am having a blast making my own backgrounds and pattern papers. By making my own I am really able to stretch my ink and cardstock compatibility. If your just starting out with stamping I highly recommend you purchase a couple stamp sets that will allow you to build/design your own background and pattern papers. A perfect example of why, is that when making this card I didn't have any papers to match the cardstock I was wanting to use. I didn't want to deal with driving over 30 minutes to the store nor did I want to spend money on more papers. Fortunately because I had some stamp sets that would enabled me to create my own paper I didn't have to. In the event you don't have any stamp sets you could always create your patterns with markers, rulers, inking or outlining dies and embossing folders. There is no limit to what you can do. For the shaker elements I didn't have any crafting sequins but I did however have nail art sequins since I am a Nail Technician. So I just used those instead. I also didn't have any acetate sheets for the shaker window so I found a old die package and just cut a piece of the clear packaging. Don't hesitate to take chances and think outside the box because most of the time you can find ways or non-crafty items to use on your creations.

Inside of Card. (Unfortunately the camera didn't pick up the Wink of Stella sparkle I added to the candles)

Back of card (Again you can't see the sparkle I added but in person it looks so awesome)
I will list all the supplies I used after I show you the card I made for my mom's birthday. I apologize for the zebra blanket I used for the photo's background but at that time I didn't have my Foldio 2 yet. Now for my mom's card I used the largest jumbo balloon die from a Simon Says die set to make a 4 ½” x 5 ½” sized card. I went just slightly bigger than the standard A2 card because I wanted to be able to showcase as much of those fantastic big balloons. Since the balloons hung over the edge of the cardstock base, I simply just cut off the parts hanging over. I used Multi Matte Medium to adhere the embroidery thread down to the card as well as shape it. That stuff is amazing! Then I did some stamping and added some die cutting peices like the candle. Viola!

Well that's wraps up the cards I have for you today but before I go I just wanted to remind you again about the STAMPtember event coming soon from Simon Says Stamp. I will be sharing sneaky peeks of some products being released so keep checking back. You won't want to miss getting a glimpse of these adorable and fabulous goodies! Also in October it will be my 2 year Blog-A-Versary so I will be having a giveaway to celebrate my subscribers. I would love to increase my follower numbers so I will definitely be giving away 1 prize but if I can be graciously blessed to reach 200 followers by then I will give away 2 prizes, 300 would mean 3 prizes, and so on. So please be sure to follow my blog and tell your friends to do the same. Thank you so much for visiting my blog today! I hope you will stop by again soon! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
